Heavy Plant Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / Plant Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Company Van & Tools Provided
Hours: 07:00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday (Occasional Overtime)

We're looking for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, or Plant Engineer to join our growing team.

You'll work on a privately owned fleet including:

  • 13T excavators down to 1.5T mini excavators
  • 9T dumpers down to 1T skip dumpers
  • Vans and supporting plant equipment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, maintaining & repairing plant machinery
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
  • Planned maintenance & breakdown repairs
  • Pre-checks and inspections on fleet vehicles
  • Completing job reports safely and efficiently
  • Mostly workshop-based, occasional site visits (company vehicle provided)

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Plant Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or Plant Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and plant systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
